Everton have ended the current season in an unsatisfactory manner, despite a good show from key players like Romelu Lukaku, (who ended the season as the second highest scorer after Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane) and ace midfielder Ross Barkley. Now with the possibility of both of the players leaving Goodison Park in the next season, Ronald Koeman, the man in charge at the Merseyside club is already looking for reinforcements to be brought into the squad this summer.
One player who has been linked quite strongly with a move to Everton in the summer is Max Kruse, who plays as a striker for the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Koeman is confident that the 29-year-old forward might come in handy as a replacement for Lukaku in case he leaves the club this summer.
The German striker has been one of the players who has been in the centre of attention for his brilliant form in the recently concluded Bundesliga season. He has shown a real predator’s instinct in front of the goal throughout the season and has notched up 15 goals for the season to show for his efforts. He has also given his teammates opportunities to score goals on seven occasions by providing valuable assists for them.
Everton, along with a number of big name clubs from all over Europe have been looking to bag the player for the next season to strengthen their sides. Reportedly, Kruse’s current club Werder Bremen have slammed a price tag of £10 million on their prized possession for the taking and are looking for potential suitors.
As per sources, the German striker is willing to leave the club given their dismal run this season. Werder Bremen finished in the eighth position this term and has not been able to make it into the European competition for the forthcoming season. This has been a major reason behind the mercurial forward looking to leave his current club and is looking to join a club which might provide him with a taste of European football in the next term.
Werder Bremen are also aware of their prized player’s desire to leave the club and are looking to do some good business in the summer. With a good number of suitors looking to bag the mercurial forward, the German club are quite sure that it will not be a real problem to get £10 million as the release clause of their star man Kruse in the next summer transfer market.
