Everton are looking to make a strong start to the forthcoming season and have already started with a lightning speed in the summer transfer window.
The Toffees are showing their determination to land a number of top class players who can help them make amends for an unsatisfactory last season, and have bagged two of the finest prospects in Europe already. The dynamic Dutch midfielder, Davy Klaassen from last year’s Dutch Eredivisie runner-up Ajax, who was also the captain of the side, and the brilliant Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, whose heroics were not enough alone to save his side getting relegated from the Premier League for the next season.
The signings are evident of the fact that the Merseyside club is not looking to leave loopholes in any of the areas for the forthcoming season.
However, it is still a problematic area for the Toffees to find a suitable alternate for their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who might not be a part of the team in the next term, as there is a strong possibility that the Belgian marksman might join his former club and current Premier League champions Chelsea in the next season.
A number of options have been available to the Toffees though, including the Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez and Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen, who might be signed by the club if they are to let go of their prized possession in the summer.
Ronald Koeman, the current coach of the Merseyside club, has tried his best to secure the signature of the Belgian striker on a new agreement, but speculations are rife that the Everton talisman is not ready to reverse his decision to leave the club in the next season.
Meanwhile, the agents of the ex-Barcelona striker Ramirez have been contacted by the Everton management to get the current Malaga forward into their squad for the next season. Ramirez has been in prolific form for his club in his very first season since moving from Nou Camp and has scored 14 goals in 32 appearances for his club along with three assists for his teammates as well. Speculations are rife that he might be the man eyed by Koeman to replace Lukaku as the main striker for his squad this summer.
The Belgian striker, who scored 26 goals in total in the last season, might also be replaced by Nicolai Jorgensen from Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord. The Danish international scored 25 goals in 42 matches in the last season but might have to play the second fiddle to Ramirez next term.
