Chelsea have been on cloud nine since their title win in the Premier League in the last season, making it a sixth one for the West London club in their history. However, they are looking to build on that success in the next season as well, and make it a good one for them. They also have the prospect of playing in the Champions League in the next term, and are looking to make a big impact in the competition and are in dire need of players who will provide them with that impetus.
The Blues are already on their way to make their first major signing in the form of French midfield enforcer Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco and pair him with his compatriot and PFA Player of the Year from last season N’Golo Kante to solidify their midfield. As per reports, the Monaco midfielder has already arrived in London to appear for his medical and might be on his way to make it into Stamford Bridge very soon for a speculated fee of £36 million.
The West London club, however, might have to let go of one of their most influential players from the last season in the form of Belgian skipper Eden Hazard, who might be on the move this summer and end up in Santiago Bernabeu. There is a good possibility of him becoming the costliest player on the planet after the Galacticos have been reported to be planning a big money move to bring in the player into their line-up for the next season, which might amount to £100 million.
Chelsea are well aware of the dreaded prospect of losing their talisman and are looking to keep their options open for a replacement for the Belgian attacker. The Blues have reportedly found a number of players, and one right on the top of the list is the Spanish midfielder Vitolo, who can be the perfect player to fit their bill.
The attacking midfielder is currently playing for the Spanish La Liga side Sevilla and has been an integral part of their line-up in the last few seasons. He has made 25 first team appearances for his current club in the recently concluded season and has scored six crucial goals for them. He has also chipped in with six assists to his name and can be a handful on his day against any top class opposition.
With a release clause of £35 million, Vitolo can be the player for Chelsea to fill in for Hazard, in case they can’t keep hold of him this summer.
