Manchester United are one of the many clubs that are looking to improve on their strike force this summer. They are set to lose at least a couple of first team stars in attack this summer and Mourinho is looking at some of the best players in Europe to replace them before the start of the next season. And one name that is now doing the rounds around Old Trafford is AS Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
The French international is one of the best finishers in Europe at the moment and has been in impeccable form for League 1 outfit Lyon for more than a year now. He has been a long-term target for Arsenal and has also been linked with a move to Liverpool but Spanish giants Atletico Madrid looked sure to sign him up this summer.
However, the FFP regulations have now seen Atletico Madrid face a ban on transfers leaving Lacazette’s future hanging by the thread. Now that the La Liga outfit will not be able to sign him, Liverpool and Arsenal were given renewed hope but Manchester United are looking to hijack the deal in the upcoming days.
According to English news outfit Metro, Lacazette has decided that he will join Manchester United, snubbing all other EPL clubs in the process this summer.
The Red Devils are set to lose Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer and need immediate, top class replacements if they are to compete with the best next season. They have been looking at Antoine Griezmann for some time now but Atletico Madrid will not be selling him now that they are banned from buying players.
This has left them with very few options and Lacazette is right up there with the best.
Strong in the air and insane with his finishing, Lacazette is a treat to watch in front of goal. He is 27, has gathered enough experience at the highest level to be able to help Manchester United in their journey next season. With 37 goals and five assists to his name, he is a genuine goal scorer who will improve United’s numbers in front of goal and at his price, he is probably the best option for Mourinho.
Arsenal and even Liverpool will be all over him in the next few days so Manchester United have to make sure that they move quickly if they are to complete a deal for this French striker. Do you think Lacazette is the right man for Manchester United?
