After failing to qualify for the Champions League in the next term for the first time since 1998, Arsenal has been looking to revamp their side and bring in some of the top class players from all over Europe for the next season. They have clearly shown their intent to field a strong team next season and have already secured the signature of one of the most highly regarded full backs, Sead Kolasinac from the German Bundesliga side Schalke.
The Gunners have already offered their legendary manager Arsene Wenger a new contract which will see him staying with them for the next two years. It seems that the Frenchman has got his work cut out for the next season and is looking to bring in more players who can turn the tide in their favour and make them win the coveted Premier League title for the first time since 2004. One name right on the top of his priority list is that of the Colombian forward James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has been out of favour under the regime of Zinedine Zidane, the manager of his current club, who has been inclined towards using him more as a substitute rather than starting with him. The Colombian captain has been reportedly disappointed with this turn of events in the recent times and has been looking to make a move out of Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
Sources suggest that the Real Madrid forward has been targeted by a number of big name clubs in the Premier League including the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. However, the Gunners are also speculated to have entered the race for bagging the Colombian ace and have reportedly submitted a bid to rope him in for the next season.
Speculations are rife that the bid has unfortunately been rejected by the Spanish giants, as it has fallen short of the £69.8 million prescribed valuation of their prized possession. However, the Gunners are expected to place a bigger bid for the Columbian skipper, as the North London club are looking forward to spend big this time around to revamp their squad.
The Premier League club might have to let go of two of their mainstays, striker Alexis Sanchez and midfielder Mesut Ozil in the summer, as both of the players have denied to pen down a new contract with the Gunners. Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in possible replacements for the two players and might look forward to sign someone like James Rodriguez to cover up for his influential attackers.
