Olivier Giroud has been a very loyal player over the years for his club Arsenal and has been playing a very crucial role up front for them in the attacking department. The Frenchman, however, has been reduced to play the role of a super-sub in the recent years after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in 2014 and has continued to score crucial goals for his club to lift them out of danger.
Reportedly, the striker has now grown impatient of the role of a substitute and is looking for a club which will give him regular starts to make his career progress in the right way. A number of clubs, from both French Ligue 1 as well as the Premier League might come to his rescue by signing him for the next season and allowing him to start at the fore for their team in the new season.
One such club is West Ham United who are looking to bring in a number of new players in order to revamp their side for the next season after a dismal performance in the recently concluded term. However, their interest might be countered by the French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, who are eyeing to bring in Giroud in case their talismanic striker Alexandre Lacazette chooses to join Arsenal in the summer.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulus has been a big fan of the Frenchman and is willing to bring him in the club in order to pair him with their main man up front, Alexandre Lacazette. In both cases, Giroud will have much more starting time and will be able to showcase his form in order to make a statement about him playing in the first eleven of any top flight team.
However, Giroud has been quite frank about his desire to stay back at the North London club and play with them for another season, as there might be a chance for him to start the proceedings in the absence of their main man up front Alexis Sanchez. Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager has been more inclined to start with the Chilean marksman ahead of his compatriot in the recent times.
Giroud has been under pressure to score for his team as well in the recent times, and he has done that well in the limited chances that he has got to show for his efforts on the pitch.
In the current season, Giroud started in only 11 matches and scored 12 times for his team, showing his class mostly as a substitute on the pitch. He laid off 6 assists for his teammates as well.
