Arsenal are under tremendous pressure to perform well in the next season in order to make amends for their finish outside the top four in the last season, which happened for the first time since 1998. The Gunners are well aware of the grave disappointment of their fans all around the globe and are looking to revamp their side so as to deliver better results in the upcoming season.
The North London club have already bagged their first scalp of the season by bringing in the Serbian wing-back Sead Kolasinac from German Bundesliga club Schalke on a free transfer to boost their defence and are now looking forward to making changes in their attack by getting top class players to sign for them. One such player is the Colombian striker Carlos Bacca, who is currently playing his football with the Italian Serie A club AC Milan.
Bacca has been one of the most highly rated strikers of the recent times and has been instrumental in front of the goal for both his country and club. The Columbian ace has been in prolific form for the last few years, scoring a number of goals for his current as well as former clubs. He was a part of the Sevilla side that won successive UEFA Europa Leagues and played a very important role for the Spanish La Liga club, scoring 44 goals in 108 appearances for them, along with 22 assists to his name as well.
After joining AC Milan a couple of seasons ago, he shone equally brightly for them as well, scoring 34 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri and also chipped in with nine assists for his teammates. However, the lack of support from the other players of his team saw AC Milan slump to a sixth position finish in the Italian Serie A in the recently concluded season.
Reportedly, the Colombian marksman is now looking forward to making a move out of San Siro, alerting a number of big name clubs in Europe including Arsenal, who might look to offload their French striker Olivier Giroud to make space for 30-year-old Bacca in their side.
The situation at the Emirates is not looking favourable for the Gunners to keep hold of their talismanic striker, Alexis Sanchez, as well, who has not agreed to pen down a new deal with them. The Columbian striker might come into the squad as a perfect replacement for the Chilean marksman this summer as well, given the deal gets through.
