Arsenal have been under a lot of pressure to get a good team together for the next season amidst their fans’ heartbreak to see them in the Europa League for the first time since 1998. The Gunners are looking forward to making the forthcoming season the one for their revival and are looking to get a number of players into the team to strengthen it for the upcoming term in England as well as Europe.
However, the North London club might have to let go off some of their most important players in the next season including their influential striker and midfielder duo of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who has denied putting their signature on a new agreement as their current contract comes to an end at the end of the next term. Arsenal might also let go of their second choice goalkeeper David Ospina, who is destined to join Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce in the summer.
In this scenario, Arsenal are looking to bring in a new shot-stopper who can replace the aging Petr Cech under the crossbars in the summer transfer window, by selling off their other goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who might be facing one of the biggest opportunities of his career by moving to Italian champions Juventus in the next season.
The Bianconeri are in search for a shot stopper who will be able to replace their legendary talisman under the crossbars, Gianluigi Buffon, given that the Italian has only 12 more months left on his contract with them before calling it a day.
The Polish goalkeeper had a great season at the Italian club AS Roma in the recently concluded season, having made a superb impression in his one-year loan term from Arsenal.
The 27-year-old has attracted interests from a number of clubs in the summer transfer window, including the likes of Italian giants like Napoli, AC Milan and Internazionale, but will most probably be joining the Italian Serie A champions Juventus on a reported transfer fee of £14 million for the next season.
However, Arsenal themselves are in dire need of a top class goalkeeper as a back-up for Petr Cech and might look into the option of keeping the Poland international, who kept 14 cleans sheets for Roma in the last season as the perfect candidate to meet their requisition. His agent has also said that Szczesny will be having a discussion with Arsene Wenger before making any decision about agreeing to a deal with the Bianconeri in the summer.
