It has been a busy summer so far at the Ibrox as Scottish side Rangers have notched up their fourth signing for the season in the form of Portuguese defender Fabio Cardoso. The player has been a part of the major revamping of his squad undertaken by the Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha for the next season.
The 23-year-old defender has come in from the Portuguese Primeira Liga side Vitoria Setubal to join Rangers on a three-year contract. His transfer fee has, however, been not yet disclosed by the Rangers club management.
In an interview given to the Rangers TV, the Portuguese centre-back said that he is very happy to be at the Scottish club and will be looking to make a mark in the new league, thus helping his new club to bring in accolades as well as develop himself as a player to play in the Scottish Premiership.
Cardoso is the second Portuguese player who will be the summer signing this season for the Scottish club and will join his compatriot Bruno Alves, who was brought in from Cagliari. The 23-year-old played just one season for his former side Vitoria Setubal after moving from current Portuguese champion side Benfica during last summer.
He will be joined by his other compatriot and former teammate Dalcio, who has been left on loan to join the Scottish side, along with former Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack.
Cardoso has been full of praise regarding Bruno Alves and has said that he is one of the best defenders Portugal has in the current scenario and there will be a lot to learn from the centre back as he will playing by his side in the coming season.
The current club coach of Rangers, Pedro Caixinha, is of the opinion that Cardoso is going to grow into a full international for Portugal in the coming days. He is also much confident of the fact that his partnership with his compatriot Alves will be very much helpful for Rangers to boost their backline.
The Rangers fans are going gaga over the latest signing on Twitter-
Fabio Cardoso is the genuinely the first world class player to arrive in Scotland since Dalcio.
This is how it feels to be Rangers. ??
