After sorting out the managerial situation, Leeds United will be looking for some new acquisitions in the transfer market. Newly appointed manager Thomas Christiansen has been handed the responsibility to fight for promotion in the upcoming season. Leeds United have reportedly targeted Macedonian winger Ezgjan Alioski.
The Whites had almost booked a place in the playoffs but they were not able to follow up their earlier performance and thus have missed out on a golden chance. Christiansen would be looking to accomplish the unfinished business and for that, he needs a couple of new faces at the Elland Road. The manager has a lot of time in his hands to set up his squad for the next season but wants to finish his shopping as early as possible.
Alioski is right now with Swiss club FC Lugano where he had a tremendous season. The 25-year-old has netted 17 goals and has set up another 14 in a prolific season. Predominantly a right winger, the Macedonian international has played the last few games as a proper centre-forward and even has a hat-trick under his belt. So if he arrives, the manager will have a readymade replacement of Chris Wood if the latter gets injured for some reason.
Radrizzani is expected to make significant changes to the club after completing the full acquisition earlier this summer and would like to invest a large chunk of money in the Yorkshire club in an attempt to shrug off the previous year’s disappointment and start the process of slowly putting the club back to the pedestal where it rightfully belongs.
Alioski has one year left on his contract and he is expected to leave the Swiss club to start a new journey in the English Championship. Alioski came through the ranks of Young Boys where he had spent a brief period of his young career. His move to Lugano was on a free transfer and it seemed the Swiss club have gained heavily as they have finished this season in the third position.
The right winger has been deployed in a number of positions throughout the season and his versatility would be something that the Whites have been craving for. Leeds United are looking for creativity in the attacking front and Alioski could be that player. He could be Christiansen’s first signing of this summer and a number of players are expected to follow him to the Elland Road.
