Hull City are undoubtedly disappointed after their relegation from the Premier League this season. They will now have to face the teams in the Championship and will definitely look to make a comeback into the Premier League next season.
The Tigers are aware of the fact that they will have to let go of a number of players who are already drawing interests from the Premier League clubs. One such player is Andrea Ranocchia, the Italian international who was brought in on loan from Inter Milan during the January transfer window.
The defender was out of favor with Inter Milan’s last manager Stefano Pioli, who handed him just nine starts throughout the last season. The defender was evidently disappointed with this decision and made his way out of the Italian Serie A to join the Premier League side Hull City on loan in January for the remainder of the season.
Ranocchia spent seven years at the San Siro before moving to England. He has been one of the best players for a rather dejected Hull City side since his arrival, and he showed his ability and did his best to try and get them out of trouble. But his efforts have proven to be too little too late for Hull City to avoid relegation.
Ranocchia has been nothing less than a silver lining in what has been a rather gloomy season for The Tigers. He declared in a recent interview that he is happy with the decision he has taken regarding his future to leave the San Siro and head towards England during the mid-season transfer window. He also said that a move back to the Italian club is unlikely in the current situation.
Ranocchia said that he is happy with the Tigers and it will be a big boost for Hull City if they can keep hold of their prized possession for the next season. However, their relegation into the Championship might be the detriment in the way of retaining the defender for the new campaign.
Looking at his current performances, there is a good possibility that some of the Premier League clubs might look to bag him for their line-up in the forthcoming season. Southampton, who might have to let go off their influential defender Virgil Van Dijk during the summer transfer window, can be a good destination for Ranocchia to continue playing in the Premier League.
Reportedly, this year’s champions Chelsea have also expressed their interest in having the defender in their squad. So will Ranocchia stay in the Premier League next season?
