West Bromwich Albion had a fairly good season this term in the English Premier League. Almost invincible at home, the Baggies are currently sitting comfortably in the top half of the League table and will be looking to strengthen their position in whatever fixtures are remaining.
However, the defence has been some kind of a headache for the West Brom manager Tony Pulis, who wants to include a good fullback to his current side. Reportedly, he has his eyes on the Leeds United left back Charlie Taylor and is looking to bag him in the next transfer window.
Charlie Taylor has been one of the best defenders in the left back position throughout the current Championship campaign and will be in for a contract extension in the next month when his current tenure with the club ends. However, it is being reported that the versatile Englishman has denied to sign a new contract with the club and is on the move to join the Baggies for the next season.
As per sources, the player has been accused of disobeying the orders of their current coach Garry Monk and refused to make an appearance in Leeds United’s final Championship match of the season against Wigan Athletic.
Reportedly, the talented left back has been looking to leave the club for the last one year and will be more than happy to get an offer from the Premier League club West Bromwich Albion. If everything goes as per plan, Taylor might be seen featuring for the Baggies in their line-up for the next season, subject to his release from Leeds.
Premier League side Liverpool have also been short of a fullback in their current campaign and are compelled to deploy the English midfielder James Milner as a left back this season. Their original option for the left back position, Spanish defender Alberto Moreno has been out of favour under current coach Jurgen Klopp and has to sit on the sideline for most of the season. Reportedly, the German coach is looking to bag Taylor for the left back position their next season. However, under the current state of affairs, West Bromwich Albion looks to be the next destination for the English defender.
Charlie Taylor is an Academy product of Leeds United, and his departure will definitely leave a big gap in their defence for sure. The Championship club might also demand up to £4 million as a compensation for the departing left back.
