Chelsea midfield star Willian is reportedly in doubt over his future with the current Premier League leaders for the next season. Speculations are rife that the Brazilian playmaker can be on the move in the next season. This has interested a number of clubs in the Premier League as well as abroad who are looking to make Willian a part of their line-up for the next season.
The Brazilian midfield maestro has been one of the best midfielders who has ever played for Chelsea. He is one of the most dreaded free kick takers in all of Europe and can be a real menace for the opposition from set piece situations.
However, Willian has been out of favour under the current Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, who has started with him for only 13 times this season so far. The Italian has been much more inclined towards using Spanish midfielder Pedro in the midfield rather than the Brazilian midfielder.
Although Willian has recently signed a four-year deal with the London club with a salary structure of £100k per week, it has failed to stop the increasing speculations involving the Brazilian’s departure from Stamford Bridge during the next transfer window. Reportedly, Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his side with a top class defender, a striker and a midfielder and for that, he is ready to offload the playmaker for nothing less than a whopping £40 million.
Among the clubs that are interested in the Brazilian midfielder, Manchester United is looking to be the frontrunner for the coup. It was Jose Mourinho who was the man in charge at Stamford Bridge when Willian joined Chelsea. With Mata, Mkhitaryan and Rooney all failing to make a mark in the midfield for the Red Devils, it is not easy to turn down the possibility of a reunion between the two in the next season.
Anfield is also looking to be a possible destination for Willian, with current Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp having a good impression about the Brazilian and his mesmerising footwork in the midfield. However, it is subject to Chelsea’s agreement to let go of one of their most influential players over the year to one of their arch rivals in the next season.
With a huge amount of money at their disposal, the Chinese clubs have been one of the most popular destinations for a number of players including Willian’s compatriot Hulk and former teammate Oscar. So if Chelsea lets go of the Brazilian midfielder in the next season, China can come up as a possible destination for Willian as well.
