Diego Costa, undoubtedly, has been one of the stars for the Chelsea side this year, inspiring them to become the champions of the Premier League this term. However, the Spaniard might be on the go in the summer, preferably to join his old club Atletico Madrid to bolster his chances of selection in the Spanish squad for the upcoming World Cup in 2018.
Reportedly, the Spanish striker wants his current club Chelsea to bring in someone who might be a perfect replacement for him in the squad next season. As per sources, he wants that the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku to come into the Blues side as a perfect replacement for him this summer, as he might leave the club.
The Chelsea outcast has been one of the best players in the recently concluded Premier League season, scoring 25 goals for his current club Everton to finish as the second highest scorer. Speculations are rife that the brilliant Belgian might be on the move in the next season to leave his club, with Chelsea showing renewed interest to bring back their once out of favour striker to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Antonio Conte, the current coach of Chelsea, has been a great admirer of the prowess shown by Lukaku this season and is more than willing to sign the Belgian marksman from Everton to strengthen his squad for the next season. He is also very much sure of the fact that the Merseyside club star will be the perfect replacement for Diego Costa, in case the Spaniard leaves Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
Another Belgian player, who has not seen much of the action this season for Chelsea, Michy Batshuyi might also be leaving his current club Chelsea in the summer in search of a club which might hand him more opportunities to start matches for them. However, Costa has said that it might be him rather than Batshuyi who is going to leave the current champions in the next season, given the fact that the Belgian striker is younger than him and might add an edge to liven up things with his swift footwork and skilful moves on the pitch.
However, Everton, the current possessor of the phenomenal marksman Romelu Lukaku, are not willing to let go off their prized man for the next season. Ronald Koeman, their coach, is well aware of the importance that the Belgian’s presence brings to the club, and should be trying very hard to convince Lukaku to not leave Goodison Park in the next season.
