Barcelona will try to start from where they left in the last match. The Catalans subdued Villarreal 4-1 in the last game of the La Liga and will try to maintain their position at the top when they visit Las Palmas. Any sort of lapse of concentration in this game would hand an advantage to their archrival Real Madrid who are yet to play their reserve match against Celta Vigo.
The Catalans will feel the urge after being ousted from the Champions League by Juventus although they still have a chance to do a double as they are also in the contention of the Copa Del Rey. They had a flurry of goals in the last few matches and their win over Real Madrid in the much hyped El Classico also has made a difference in the title race.
Predicted 4-3-3 Barcelona Lineup Against Las Palmas
Defence
Ter Stegen will be guarding the Barcelona goal as usual.
Barcelona have managed to keep only one clean sheet in the last five matches and Luis Enrique would certainly take care of that. Sergi Roberto is facing a suspension after accumulating five yellow cards and Javier Mascherano is likely to take his place.
Gerard Pique will have to take a little break from his tweeting as the lanky defender will be dealing with the Las Palmas attackers in the Barcelona defence.
Samuel Umtiti has been probably the best defender currently in the Barcelona ranks and will partner Pique in the defence.
Jordi Alba replaced Lucas Digne in the last match as the latter got injured and the Spaniard is set to start on the left side.
Midfield
Andre Gomes’s rise in form has suddenly been a sigh of relief for Enrique but he is expected to go into the match with his favourable midfield combination. Sergio Busquets will be anchoring from the deep and will try to plug in the gap in front of the four-man defence.
Ivan Rakitic will try to use his mobility as the Croatian playmaker will be at the centre of midfield.
Andres Iniesta has been the star of Barcelona midfield and he will try to put an instant effect once the match starts.
Attack
Praising Lionel Messi would be an understatement. The Argentine attacker has been carrying Barcelona on his shoulder and once again the responsibility will be on him to get Barcelona a good start.
From the left wing, Neymar will try to inflict more damage to the Las Palmas defenders.
Luis Suarez will be the only centre-forward and will try to help his team by chipping in a few goals.
