In what could be a crucial match on the way to match a rare feat, Celtic will be up against the challenge of Aberdeen. The Hoops are only three matches away from achieving an ‘Invincibles’ status but the Reds could put a break on their winning juggernaut and put a full stop to their 41-match undefeated streak.
Brendan Rodgers has been absolutely pin-point with his strategy as the Bhoys are looking absolutely ruthless right now. They have faced each other four times so far in this season and the current table toppers have emerged as winners in all the four matches. They ran out winners in the League cup final in November where they came out with a 3-0 score line.
Aberdeen have lost their last two home matches and on current form, Celtic will not have to think much in this game.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Celtic Lineup Against Aberdeen
Defence
Celtic are within a touching distance of being branded as ‘Invincibles’ and for that Craig Gordon must have to put up a convincing display. The Bhoys have conceded the least number of goals in the Scottish Premiership this season and for that record, the credibility of the 34-year-old cannot be denied.
Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic have a vital role to play in the central defence as the Dons will try to leave a black spot on what has been otherwise an excellent season for the Hoops. Boyata scored the last time these two teams met as Celtic narrowly edged ahead by a solitary goal.
Kieran Tierney has been a household name in Scotland with his inspiring performances. The 19-year-old left back has been linked with a number of big clubs.
Anthony Ralston will keep his place in the right back position.
Midfield
Stuart Armstrong will be desperate to test his mettle in the central midfield.
Nir Bitton will have to make sure that the Dons attacker cannot breach their attacking third. The defensive midfielder holds a very key part and needs to be at his best to leave the Pittodrie Stadium with three points.
Attack
The signing of Scott Sinclair in the summer seemed to be their best bit of business in recent times. The left winger has so far netted 23 goals in all competitions for the Scottish giants. He will be on the left flank.
Callum McGregor knows his capability and will try to take advantage of the opposition from the no .10 position.
Patrick Roberts will start on the right flank.
Leigh Griffiths will be the lone hitman upfront.
