West Bromwich Albion’s form in the last few games has raised a few eyebrows and they need to win their next match when they visit they the Turf Moor to face Burnley. Tony Pulis’ side started the season on a brilliant note but their recent slide in performance has put them in a difficult situation and they will feel the heat if they somehow succumb to a fifth defeat in the next match. Southampton is sniffing right on their shoulder and the fact that the Saints have played a game lesser than the Baggies will give Pulis’s side a huge mountain to climb.
West Brom registered one of their biggest wins against Burnley back in November and will be taking inspiration from that match. Burnley are yet to register their first win against the Baggies in the Premier League and with the kind of form they are in, they might pull off a miracle.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 West ham United Lineup Against Burnley
Defence
Ben Foster has been very reliable in the goal for the Baggies and he will once again try to inflict a defeat on the Clarets.
The Baggies defence has been one of the strong points of this season. Tony Pulis’ side has continued to put strong displays throughout the season and against a side like Burnley, they won’t have to dispose of much. In Johny Evans and Gareth McAuley, West Brom have one of the most smashing defensive pairs in the Premier League. McAuley’s ability from setpiece is not unknown and he will try to exploit any set piece situation he gets.
Allan Nyom will line up in the left back position.
Pulis would be expecting a cracker of a performance from Craig Dawson.
Midfield
West Brom is not a team who attacks very often. They love to defend and hold possession and kill the opposition on the counter. Pulis is slated to use a more balanced 4-1-4-1 formation against a relatively less attacking team like Burnley and Jake Livermore will sit in the holding midfield role.
Darren Fletcher and James Morrison will be lining up higher up in the midfield to exploit Burnley’s mistakes.
Attack
Nacer Chadli has been a vital part of the Baggies’ campaign and he is expected to start from the left wing.
Chris Brunt will gather all his wits to give the Baggies some momentum from the right wing.
Salomon Rondon will spearhead the attack and will use his height and physique to deal with the Clarets defence.
