Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be looking for a reunion with his former club and country teammate Claudio Marchisio, who might make a move to the Premier League club in the forthcoming season.
The Italian has been an example for loyalty to a particular club and has spent his entire professional career with the Bianconeri. He is also a part of the incredible quartet who made it to the Champions League final in 2015, the other three being Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal, who have all moved onto other clubs in Europe and America.
Though Marchisio has recently extended his contract with Juventus till 2020, current coach Max Allegri is looking to offload quite a few players to give the Italian club a new look this summer. This has given air to the rumours that the 31 year old midfielder might come under the axe and will have to leave the club for other future prospects.
Chelsea are currently at the top of the table in the Premier League this season and have played some great football throughout the campaign. The Bianconeri midfielder will definitely be a good addition to the already strong looking Chelsea side and can be the perfect partner for the current PFA Player of The Year and French international N’Golo Kante in the midfield.
Reportedly, Chelsea have already submitted a bid for the Italian midfielder for £17 million, only to see it being rejected by Juventus, who have put a £25 million price tag on their prized possession.
It has been rumoured that Allegri has been looking to bring in the mercurial forward Federico Bernardeschi, who is considered as a potential target for the Premier League side as well. However, the Fiorentina striker is speculated to have a £40 million price tag on him and to acquire him, Juventus might be compelled to sell Marchisio to the Blues.
It goes without saying that the move will benefit Chelsea to a great extent. The huge amount of experience and patience that the Italian midfield maestro will bring into Stamford Bridge will be helpful for the Blues to keep their brilliant run in the current season intact in the next season as well.
Although their primary bid has been rejected by the Italian champions, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is hopeful that they can bag Claudio Marchisio for the next season with a revised bid. With negotiations still open between the two sides, it is now upto the club and their mercurial midfielder to stay together in the next season or part ways. Can Chelsea land him this summer?
