Romelu Lukaku could be on the go at the end of the current season, owing to the fact that he has denied to extend his current contract with Everton. Reportedly, the current top scorer in the Premier League this season has been linked with a move to big name Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United along with European giants like Real Madrid. The situation being really gloomy for the Merseyside club, current club manager Ronald Koeman has already started his quest to find the right replacement for the mercurial marksman.
Three strikers who can be considered as a potential replacement for Lukaku in case he leaves Everton during the next transfer window are as followed-
Alexandre Lacazette-
With an enviable goalscoring record in the French Ligue 1, Alexandre Lacazette can just be the right player who can replace the Belgian striker at Everton. The striker, currently playing for the French club Olympique Lyonnais, has scored 22 goals in 23 outings for his club and is rated as one of the best goal scorers in all over Europe. Everton coach Ronald Koeman should be on the trail of this highly rated French forward and sign him in the next season if Romelu Lukaku leaves Goodison Park.
Willian Jose-
This Brazilian dazzler, currently playing in the Spanish La Liga, has been under constant watch from the Merseyside team. Personnel from both the team have met a few times with each other to reach an agreement over the forward’s transfer to Goodison Park. His current club Real Sociedad has demanded £33million as the release clause for the Brazilian forward. However, the Merseyside club has allotted not more than £28 million for the Brazilian forward, the same amount that they had paid while signing Romelu Lukaku. Willian Jose has been instrumental in his team’s wins and has scored 11 goals in 28 appearances so far along with three assists for his fellow teammates to score this season. Now it is to be seen whether Everton goes in with the deal and brings in the Brazilian marksman in case Lukaku leaves in the summer.
Jonathan Cafu-
The Brazilian forward Jonathan Cafu has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including the likes of West Ham United and Everton. Reportedly, the mercurial Brazilian, who currently plays for the Bulgarian club Ludogorets Razgrad, has a release clause of £10.2 million on him. Given the form, Cafu is in currently, this can be a real bargain for Everton, with Romelu Lukaku looking to leave in the next season.
