Newcastle United are looking to make their comeback season into the Premier League a successful one and are eyeing to bring in a number of players to revamp the squad for the fresh start. The Toons are looking to make bids for players from the Premier League and have been started interacting with European clubs as well to bring in a few players to strengthen their squad.
Reportedly, Newcastle has been showing interest in the attacking midfielder Gabriel Pires from Spanish side Leganes to be included in their line-up for the next season. The Brazilian ace has been one of the most influential players for his current side and has been one of the bright marks in what can be said to be an utterly disappointing season for Leganes.
Leganes has been struggling to save themselves from relegation this season. However, the standout player for them has been the 23-year old Brazilian and thus has attracted interest from a number of clubs from all over Europe including Newcastle United. His present club Leganes has been reportedly bracing themselves for a number of summer offers for Pires.
According to sources, Newcastle United’s present manager, Rafa Benitez has been reaching out to their top management to voice his demand for a war chest to rebuild the team. The season is going to be tough for The Toons as they will be facing some of the best teams in Europe in the Premier League including the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Spaniard is aware of the fact that he will need a team strong enough to fight the aforementioned powerhouses of English football, and he is looking for at least £100 million to bring in players who have made a mark in their respective team. Reportedly, Benitez has also demanded to lead the charge for The Toons in affairs regarding the transfer of players.
Fortunately for Benitez, the club management has complied with him and has given him the right to have a major say in the transfer of players during the summer window. However, it is still not clear whether the Spaniard has been granted his wish for the £100 million war chest for the next season by the Newcastle United management.
The Brazilian playmaker has been one of the better players Leganes have in their line-up this season. He has scored five goals in 32 appearances for the Spanish club in the present season. He is also versatile in his style and can play in the central midfield, on the wing and upfront as well.
