Middlesbrough have been shown the door out of the Premier League for the next season. Their short stint back in top flight football lasted just for a single season and was abruptly ended owing to their 3-0 defeat to eventual Premier League 2016/17 champions Chelsea in their last encounter.
However, Middlesbrough seems to be ready for life back into the Championship and are already looking to revamp their team for the next season. Reportedly, they are looking to bring in the midfielder Nathan Thomas from Hartlepool, which is a League Two club.
Middlesbrough is looking to stabilise their midfield for the next season and will definitely need some good players to try and win the Championship. As per sources, Boro have already made a bid for the Hartlepool winger which sums up to £300,000 for his inclusion in their side. The 22-year-old Englishman has been in good form and has attracted interests from teams like Wolves, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.
Reportedly, the champions for this season in the League One, Sheffield United, have already submitted a bid to bring the winger to their club for the next season with Hartlepool and it has been accepted by the club as well. However, Middlesbrough is not looking to leave their pursuit for the English midfielder and has also submitted a bid of the aforementioned amount to bag him for the next season.
Nathan Thomas has been in very good form throughout the season and has made an impact for them on the pitch. The winger has been going from strength to strength with every match and it is very much evident from his performances. Thomas has scored nine goals so far this season and is being hailed as one of the match winners for his present club Hartlepool.
The winger has a record of changing clubs quite soon and has already played for as many as five clubs within his short career so far. The list includes of clubs like Darlington, Plymouth Argyle, Motherwell and Mansfield Town, and of course, his present club Hartlepool.
Thomas has been a prolific player with an eye for goal and can make darting runs into the opposition defence from time to time. He can play pinpoint passes to setup his teammates in front of the goal as well and can constantly deliver deadly balls into the attacking third from the wing. He has the ability to take shots from a long way outside the box and can also finish from close range, which makes him a dangerous player to the opposition.
