Manchester United had another dismal season in their current campaign in the Premier League. Although they won the final game of the season with a young team, it did not change their ranking and they will miss the UCL if they fail to win the final of this year’s UEFA Europa League against Ajax to be played on the 24th of May, 2017.
Other than reaching the final of the coveted tournament this year, there has been nothing memorable which the Manchester United fans can keep with them for a long time. The bringing in of the French superstar Paul Pogba from Italian champions Juventus at the starting of the season for a world record transfer fee has also failed to have any significant impact on the club’s plans to get silverwares this season.
However, current coach of the Red Devils, Jose Mourinho is already looking to bring in someone of an enigmatic stature to boost his team’s morale for the next season. Reportedly, the Blaugrana superstar Neymar has been linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, and the move might cost Manchester United an amount worth a fortune, though given their reputation as big money spenders, the dream move might be possible, helping to end the woes upfront for the Red Devils in the next season.
It has been emerging in the latest reports that the father of the Barcelona forward has also advised him to make a move to England, which will help him get out of the shadow of the magnificent Argentine Lionel Messi. According to him, Neymar has been playing second fiddle to the Argentine captain since his arrival to Nou Camp, and might not have a chance to make it big there in the presence of Messi.
Neymar is not in the kind of form that he would like to be in the current season for Barcelona as well. He has been able to score only 19 goals this season, and has not been able to be anywhere near the kind of sublime form that he had been in during the last two seasons, scoring 39 and 31 goals to get his team to achieve the glorious feat of winning the Spanish La Liga.
Neymar will be a bonafide superstar at Old Trafford if he makes the move and provided he succeeds here, he might well be compared to the mighty Ronaldo who excelled both in England and in Spain. However, Mourinho himself has not confirmed any development so far regarding the much rumoured transfer deal.
