Ryan Sessegnon has been one of the players termed as a wonderkid in the books of a number of football experts in all over Europe. Currently playing with the Championship side Fulham, offers are currently flowing in from a number of big name clubs for the 16-year-old including Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
In the race to bag the youngster, Manchester United is being considered as a front runner so far. However, Liverpool has been trying to make Sessegnon a part of their team for quite a long time and might be successful in their mission this time around it seems. Current coach of the Reds, Jurgen Klopp has been looking for a left-back who can give his side’s defence an edge over that of the oppositions’ and can also make runs down the wing with good pace and ferocity.
Though Fulham are playing Sessegnon as a left back, it is very obvious from his running and goal scoring abilities that the youngster likes to go up the pitch and make an obvious impact on the game. His swift dribbling skills to shake off his opponents are impressive and long shots into the face of the opponent goals from both set pieces and open play can be good enough to cause a stir in any defence.
Liverpool’s arch rivals Arsenal have also placed a bid for the 16-year-old player to make him wear their club colours in the forthcoming season. Reportedly, Fulham, having secured a place in the championship playoffs, are not looking to let go of the youngster in the next season.
Tottenham are also reportedly looking to make a bid for the prodigal youngster and make him a part of their team for the next season. The Spurs nurtured present Real Madrid star, the Welshman Gareth Bale, who had also started as a left back and went on to become one of the best forwards in the game.
Manchester United has been having a huge problem in their back line, with their present left back Luke Shaw making inconsistent appearances. Jose Mourinho, the current Reds manager is not at all impressed with the performance of the England left back and is reportedly looking for a good replacement. Ryan Sessegnon, with his excellent abilities on the pitch, might be the right player to fit the bill of the Portuguese mastermind under present circumstances.
It goes without saying that the race is heating up to bag the left back and Liverpool will have to face tough competition in pursuit of the youngster.
