Liverpool are edging towards a move to land Mohamed Salah at Anfield. The Reds are working closely with his agent and are very confident that a deal will take place in the coming days. Jurgen Klopp will bring a number of players in this summer and it seems Salah could be one of them. The Reds had a very optimistic campaign as they finished fourth in the Premier League and have earned the license for the qualifying stage of the Champions League.
Salah remained an old favourite for the English outfit as they had tried to pursue a move for the Egyptian winger back in 2014 before the arrival of Klopp. But then he snubbed Liverpool and joined Chelsea which turned out to be an awful move for him as he hardly got any chance at the Stamford Bridge to utilise his potential.
He merely featured in 19 games for the current English champions. He was then sent on loan to Fiorentina and AS Roma respectively. He blossomed at both the clubs especially at Roma and the Italian side signed him permanently last summer.
The speculation is fuelled by the recent post of his agent Ramy Abbas on the social network site Instagram where he posted a picture of his boarding pass where he was seen travelling to the UK.
Klopp wants two prolific wingers on both flanks to rattle the opponents. Although he has Philippe Coutinho, who has been phenomenal for the Reds in this season, his natural area of movement is from the no.10 position where he is best suited.
Salah’s potential arrival means Roberto Firmino could see more of the bench. The Brazilian has had a very decent season but now will have the fear of falling in the pecking order. Salah has been one of the key players for Roma in the past couple of seasons and this season too was a defining one for the Roman club. Primarily due to his form, Roma have been able to finish the season in second place and have qualified for the Champions League. The winger had a hand in 34 goals for them as he once again led the team from the front to a respectable position.
An out and out winger, Salah loves to use his pace and often cuts back inside. His control of the ball is delightful and if he is on song, he could create havoc in the opposition ranks. Unlike other wingers, he participates in defensive duties also and that makes him one of the most sought after players in the world.
