They are back! Liverpool, the five-time European Champions are back in the Champions League, for just the second time in the last eight years and it was not an easy journey there. But the season is now over, and they are seeded in the Champions League next season, which might see Jurgen Klopp move in for some sparkling transfer targets this summer.
One player who is now extensively linked with a move to Anfield is Leicester City star, Demarai Gray. Unlike a couple of weeks ago, when European football was not a surety, Liverpool now have that card to play in all their transfers and for Gray, that might be all he needs.
Known as one of the most exciting talents in the domestic circuit in England, Gray has been a fringe player at the King Power since his move from Birmingham City last year. He has been used constantly from the bench, which has reduced his output to just two goals and five assists in all competitions this season.
The Sun claim that Jurgen Klopp is ready to meet his release clause of £12m and he is convinced that the 20-year old is the right man for his side. He may not be the big name that Liverpool fans will be waiting for this summer but Gray is certainly a player who can come good at Anfield in years to come.
A smart dribbler with superb finishing up his sleeve, Gray is a player who is still learning the game and he will surely be excited to work for a man manager like Klopp. At just 20, he is on the fringes of the national side and is a player who will improve the depth in the Liverpool squad.
The Reds are one of the top goal scorers in Europe at the moment but lack genuine width in their attack. Sadio Mane remains the only senior winger in the squad and with Champions League football on the horizon, Gray cannot be the only player who Klopp spends on for this position.
For a backup, at just £12m, Gray is an exciting addition to the Reds squad. Klopp underestimated the fixture congestion this season and will try to compensate by adding some serious depth to the squad. And if players like Gray are targeted for this purpose, it shows great progress at Anfield.
Liverpool will still be looking at the likes of Julian Brandt, Douglas Costa and Mo Salah for a move this summer but if they can get Gray to sign early in the transfer window, it will reduce the pressure on Klopp to improve all the overall squad. Is Gray an option for the Anfield outfit?
