Antonio Conte, the Italian coach of Chelsea, achieved an incredible feat of winning the Premier League title in his very first season. He is now eyeing a second title for the season by winning the prestigious FA Cup against arch-rivals Arsenal this weekend to end the season on a high note.
His tactics and changes in the playing XI, as well as the witty variation in formations, have been a major reason behind Chelsea’s success in the Premier League this term. He has marshalled his squad in a way to gain complete dominance of the proceedings and has been able to bring back the confidence that has been missing from the team after their disastrous last season when they finished in the tenth position in the League table.
His incredible success has prompted a number of clubs from all over Europe, including Italian giants Internazionale, to make an attempt to secure his services for the next season. However, the West London club are already on their way to keeping hold of their main man for a number of seasons and are taking steps to make sure that no other club is able to lure him out of Stamford Bridge.
Reportedly, Chelsea is all set to offer Conte a new contract, which is worth a staggering £40 million and runs till 2021. This will make the Italian the highest paid manager ever in the history of Chelsea. Sources are also suggesting that the Italian will be handed a war chest with a big amount to spend on bringing in reinforcements to make his squad even stronger in the next season.
Conte is of the best managers in the history of European football with an envious track record. Before Chelsea, the last club under his coaching was Juventus. He joined the Italian giants in 2011 and stayed there till 2014, winning a number of accolades, including the Italian Serie A title for three consecutive seasons. He left the club in 2014 to take up the job of the Italian National team coach.
The brilliant tactician was awarded the prestigious Panchina d’Oro in each of the three seasons with Juventus, declaring him as the best coach in the Serie A for three consecutive seasons in a row. It is very much evident that the Blues top management will leave no stone unturned to make the Italian stay back at their club and let his benevolent guidance enrich the players for many more seasons to come.
