Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will travel to Leipzig as they face off against second placed Leipzig in another meaningless encounter for both the sides. Bayern have already secured their fifth successive Bundesliga title whereas Leipzig have also secured a second-placed finish in their debut season in the Bundesliga. The visitors thumped Leipzig last time they met, and a 3:0 win ensured Bayern’s domination in the league for the rest of the season. However, Ralph Hassenhuttl’s men have grown a lot stronger since then and will be seeking retribution and also their first ever win vs. Bayern in club’s history. Here is the predicted Bayern Munich lineup to face against the Leipzigers on Saturday.
Goalkeeper: Both of Bayern’s top choice goalkeepers are out with injury, which opens up space for third choice Tom Starke to start as the main man between the sticks for Bayern. He will be looking to continue on his brilliant performance vs. Darmstadt.
Right Back: Philip Lahm will lead his side against Leipzig, in what will be one of his last two games as a professional footballer. The German world champion will surely look to end his career with something special.
Center Back(R): Jerome Boateng was furious because of him being the third choice to Mats Hummels and Javi Martinez this season. For that very reason, he is widely expected to start as the central defender for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Center Back(L): Mats Hummels will partner alongside his international teammate Jerome Boateng. The former Dortmund captain has been their best defender this season by a long margin.
Left Back: Despite Juan Bernat’s goal that proved to be the winner against Darmstadt last week, David Alaba is expected to be chosen ahead of the Spanish fullback as coach Carlo Ancelotti will look to ensure that his club doesn’t suffer any massive blow against the strong Leipzig side.
Central Defensive Midfielder: Xabi Alonso will also start as the midfield hub for the visitors. He too will play one of his last two games in his career. The former Real Madrid midfielder will be itching to perform well against Leipzig.
Central Midfield: Joshua Kimmich has been a beast in the last couple of matches. He completely stole the show against Wolfsburg and followed it up with an equally great performance last week. Kimmich’s strong presence in midfield is definitely a good sign for FC Bayern.
Central Midfield: Renato Sanches might have another chance to prove his skills to Bayern. Even though his future with Bayern doesn’t look any brighter and according to rumours from various sources, the record champions are willing to sell him for a price around 30-35 million euros. Thomas Muller could also be an option for Carlo Ancelotti.
Right Wing: Arjen Robben’s bombardment down the right wing was one of the reasons behind Bayern’s emphatic win against Leipzig back in December. The Dutchman was simply unplayable for the home side and will be hoping for a similar performance this weekend.
Left Wing: Franck Ribery is expected to start on the left wing. The Frenchman’s brilliance plays a huge role in Coman’s lack of opportunities this season.
Striker: Robert Lewandowski might once again run away with the top scorer title this season. But things will be little difficult this time, as Aubameyang is also tied with 28 goals for the season. So the Polish International will be hunting for a couple of goals against the Roten Bullen this week.
