Ronald Koeman is preparing to make a move for M’Baye Niang. The player is currently on loan at Watford but the English club are very unlikely to make a permanent move for the youngster who had a modest loan spell at the KCOM. The 22-year-old has been decent and he has racked up two goals alongside as many assists in the second half of the season.
Despite having the talent Niang hasn’t been able to showcase it at the highest level for AC Milan. He did show patches of form but the lack of development and dedication seems to be the reason for his failure at the San Siro. Frustrated by his playing antics, the Italian side decided to loan him to Watford as the Hornets had been searching for a forward. But Niang made it very clear that he is not very keen on a move to the Vicarage Road on a permanent basis.
He did have his association with Goodison Park as he had been here at the time of David Moyes when he went for a trial successfully. The Blues were destined to sign him but Milan hijacked a move for the youngster.
The 22-year-old has often been criticised for his attitude and has been a troublemaker. He also had been to jail for an accident and this kind of incidents have made him more popular than his football has. Koeman is certain that Romelu Lukaku is set to leave the club at any moment and he wants to replace him with Niang. But Niang’s goal scoring ability is not a match for the Belgian who has been in devastating form for the Toffees.
Koeman is ready to spend £15.71m for his service as he is planning to emulate his strategy. The manager has a particular interest in young players and is very desperate to bolster his attacks.
They have the money as owner Farhad Moshiri is ready to splash the cash to improve their position and Koeman is believed to have briefed him about his long term plan. Niang is very keen to move back to Italy but there is no guarantee of a first-team place in Milan. Koeman can mould the player in his set up and can help him thrive. He was expected to sign for the Hornets but recent movements indicated he is very close to a move to Everton. Can Everton be a successful spell for him?
