Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been in the news for all the right reasons of late. His superb show between the sticks has earned him lots of praises and accolades and has reportedly attracted interests from some of the top clubs in the English Premier League.
The England international has been in great form in the last two seasons for The Potters and has been one of the main reasons for them to retain a place in top flight football. However, this season, the brilliant shot stopper has missed a chunk of the season with an injury, that let him play only four matches this season so far.
That, though, has not been able to decrease the demand for Butland by any means, with the Premier League biggies still looking to bag him for the next season. Reportedly, this term’s Premier League champions Chelsea are looking very much interested in signing the Stoke City goalkeeper.
There is a big possibility that The Blues might lose their number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to the Spanish Champions Real Madrid during the next transfer window. Reports suggest that in case the Galacticos are not able to make the deal involving the transfer of the Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea successful in the summer, they might look to rope in the Chelsea shot-stopper to replace their present goalkeeper Keylor Navas. Navas did not have a very good season with the Galacticos and might be shown the door in the next season.
This has irked speculations regarding the bagging of the England international in the next season by The Blues to replace their Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, in case he makes a move out of Stamford Bridge during the summer. However, they might face stern competition from Manchester United, who are very much likely to lose their goalkeeper David de Gea, who is reportedly eyeing a move back to his native country with the Galacticos.
As per sources, there might be a good amount of competition coming in from the other Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City, who are also looking to offload their current goalkeepers in the next season. Manchester City, especially, are currently having a headache with their existing goalkeepers’ performance in the current season and might look to bring in someone of the stature of Butland to replace them in between the sticks.
The England international has been a key player for his current club Stoke City for the last few seasons and also received the award for the Player of the Year during the last season.
