It has been a brilliant season in the Champions League as well as the Italian Serie A for Juventus, with the Bianconeri making it to the final of the Champions League to face off against defending champions Real Madrid. One of the telling factors for the successful run of the Italian champions has undoubtedly been the presence of their right back Dani Alves, whom Barcelona let go off during the last summer transfer window.
At the age of 34, the inspirational Brazilian is going from strength to strength. He has been able to cover up the loopholes in the Juventus defence as well as going up and scoring goals for them. His last one was a stunner from long range, which sealed the victory for his side in the Champions League Semifinal against the French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Barcelona, who have ironically faced defeat at the hands of the Italian champions in the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League, will be much disappointed to let go of the brilliant Brazilian last summer. However, the Premier League side Chelsea are now looking to bag the defender for the next season, with the Champions League in view.
The Blues have already wrapped up the Premier League and deservedly are the Champions. They will look to make their good run extend in the next season as well. However, their victory of the Premier League title will ensure their participation in the UEFA Champions League in the next season, where they will have to face some of the biggest teams from all over Europe.
Chelsea’s Italian coach Antonio Conte is well aware of the difficulties that await his team in the next season and is looking to bring in players who can give stability to the side. Reportedly, the Brazilain Dani Alves is one of them. If he signs for The Blues, this will be his first ever stint in the English Premier League, having played for Italian and Spanish clubs for the majority of his career.
The Brazilian ace has vast experiences in the European competitions and the West London club will like to capitalise on that for the next season. However, Alves has still got one more year on his contract with the Bianconeri, and it goes without saying that their present coach Max Allegri, will try his level best to make him stay back at his helm for the next season as well.
