Chelsea have finished a successful season as they reclaimed the Premier League title from last season’s winners Leicester City. They are now looking forward to mending all the loopholes that are required to strengthen their side for the next season, in which they will be up against some of the best teams from all over Europe, as they, as the Premier League champions are entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League next term.
Reportedly, Chelsea are looking to bring in a player who can be a good inclusion in the side and can fit into the 3-4-3 playing system imposed by current club coach Antonio Conte. Speculations are rife that the Blues are eyeing the English right back Kyle Walker from Tottenham Hotspur for the next season.
Walker has been out of favour under the current Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino, who has preferred to make the England international sit on the bench rather than sweating it out on the pitch. The Argentine mastermind has been starting with Kevin Trippier as his choice in the right back position, and is reportedly looking to offload Walker in the summer.
Chelsea is keeping a keen eye on the latest development of the matter between Tottenham and Kyle Walker, with Manchester City also looking to make a bid in order to bag the right back for their squad in the next season.
Kyle Walker has been undoubtedly a brilliant right back and a regular in the England National team line up for the last few years. His darting runs down the wing and delivery of crucial passes into the attacking third has made him one of the great assets for his club as well as the country. However, in the current season, his relationship with Pochettino has deteriorated, which might see the English international leaving the club in the summer.
Reportedly, the right back has been valued at £40 million by Tottenham and he is willing to listen to offers to leave White Hart Lane during the next transfer window. German giants Bayern Munich are also speculated to bag the Englishman to fill the void left in their defence made by the departure of their club captain and legendary right back Phillip Lahm at the end of the recently concluded Bundesliga season.
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is sure of the fact that Walker will be perfect as a wing back on the right-hand side of the field and can complement his successful 3-4-3 formation.
