Burton Albion have successfully retained their position in the Championship for the next season and are looking to bring some new faces in order to strengthen their side. A number of players have been linked with The Brewers, as they are popularly known among their fans, and Liverpool’s Harry Wilson is one of them.
Reportedly, Burton Albion is looking to sign the youngster on a season-long loan from the Reds for their campaign in the Championship next season. Nigel Clough, the manager at the Pirelli stadium has been keen to bag the Welsh international, given the impressive track record that the 20-year-old has at Anfield.
Wilson is currently the captain of the Under 23 side for The Reds and has been having a very successful season at the Merseyside club. The youngster has already starred once for his country, Wales, and is regarded as one of the brightest footballers in Britain. Wilson played for the Wales side first time at the age of 16 years and 207 days, beating the previous record set by the talismanic Welsh frontman Gareth Bale.
He is a very composed player with a cool head over his shoulders. His mature decision making and ability to marshal his side in an effective way are proofs enough that he is one of the future stars for The Reds.
Apart from being an able captain, the 20-year-old is also a brilliant player. He is known for his darting runs down the sideline, probing at the opposition defense from time to time. He also has the capability to score goals from set piece situations as well as open play. His dribbling skills are absolutely eye-widening, and to go with it, he can take shots from a long distance which is an imminent danger for the opposition.
Wilson is one of the most highly rated footballers in Liverpool’s ranks right now, though he is yet to feature in the senior squad in the Premier League. Burton Albion want to take advantage of the good form the player is in and want to make him wear their colours for the next season.
The Championship outfit are having one of their best seasons and will be looking to continue the good run in the next season as well. Wilson can be an influential inclusion to the side and this loan stint might help him find a place in the senior side at Anfield in years to come.
