Manager- Mauricio Pochettino
Without the doubt, the Argentine has been standing tall over Jose Mourinho for the past two seasons. Recently awarded the manager of the month, Pochettino’s grand plans three years back have started falling into places now. The young players have started firing and the results are coming with Tottenham on the cusp of being a European superpower.
Goalkeeper- David De Gea
Hugo Lloris has the better record this season for sure, but the Frenchman hasn’t been very sharp when Spurs’ almost impenetrable defence have been occasionally breached. De Gea, on the other hand, has made some saves of the season.
Left-Back- Matteo Darmian
This position has been a huge concern for both the teams. While Luke Shaw’s repeated injuries have led Mourinho to experiment numerous times in that position, Danny Rose’s absence has been problematic to deal for Spurs. Ben Davies is good but not a game changer. We would go for the better defensive option of Darmian here.
Centre-Back- Jan Vertonghen
The Belgian leader has been a solid rock at the back for Tottenham this season and their brilliant defensive record stems from Vertonghen’s intelligent game reading.
Centre Back- Toby Alderweireld
It is hard to imagine a better partner at the heart of the defence alongside Vertonghen. Alderweireld has the calm and composure to hold out the fiercest of attacks without so much as a wrinkle on his face. He has been one of the best centre-halves in the Premier League for the last two seasons.
Right-Back- Kyle Walker
Manchester United have this English full-back at the top of their transfer list in the coming summer; which more than demonstrates his abilities in this role.
Central midfielder- Victor Wanyama
Pochettino had brought this player with him from Southampton and he hasn’t disappointed. A beast in the midfield, his tireless work rate and physicality makes him an invaluable asset for any side.
Central midfielder -Ander Herrera
The Spanish midfielder will be the perfect partner for Wanyama. Apart from possessing his defensive attributes, Herrera has an eye for the perfect pass up front as well.
Right-Wing- Heung Min-Son
Without a doubt, this South Korean has been the main attraction of the season. Starting as a second fiddle to Moussa Sissoko, he took his chances extremely well scoring 12 goals and seven assists already.
Left-Wing- Christian Eriksen
Though it took Spurs some time to replace Luka Modric successfully, it has finally come in Eriksen. The Danish attacking midfielder is absolute class. He has registered a massive 12 assists so far and scored eight goals.
Centre-Attacking Midfielder- Dele Alli
Another gem unearthed by Pochettino. He is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at just 21 with his displays. There is no particular attribute to point out; Alli is a complete midfielder already. He has scored 17 goals so far.
Centre-Forward- Harry Kane
Of course, Romelu Lukaku has topped the list of highest scorers this season, but if not for the injuries, Kane would have been achieving it undeniably. He has scored 21 goals in 27 games which include two one-month injuries.
