Hector Bellerin has been one of the most inspirational players in the Arsenal line-up during the current season. It will not be wrong to say that the Spaniard has been a silver lining in a rather gloomy season for the Gunners. His comprehensive display has led a number of clubs from the Premier League as well as Europe to sign him for the next season.
Spanish giants Barcelona have been missing a solid right back since their mercurial Brazilian- Dani Aves left for Juventus. Now with Bellerin being a viable option, the Catalan club is looking to bring in the defender and use him as a fullback.
Reportedly, Barcelona is planning to make a bid of £35 million for the Spaniard to bring him to Nou Camp in the next season. The 21-year-old player has been a mainstay in the defence of the Premier League club since he joined them in 2011, and the Catalan club has been on his trail for quite a long time now.
Barcelona have been suffering from the lack of a good fullback who can make runs down the wing as well as give stability to the defence, with Aleix Vidal being nothing more than a flop since his arrival at the Catalan club at the start of last season. Current Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has not at all been impressed with his performance and has opted to play Sergi Roberto in his place for most of the matches this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are not looking to let go of their prized possession. Hector Bellerin has also signed a new six-year deal with the North London club, which has been able to appease the much-agitated supporters to some extent.
However, this has not been able to make Barcelona abandon the chase for their much-coveted defender. The Catalan giants are looking desperate to make the deal work this time around and land Bellerin in Nou Camp for the next season.
Hector Bellerin has been a fine example of disciplined football on the pitch most of the times during this season for Arsenal. His swift footwork paired with darting runs down the wing has led to a number of attacks into the opposition half. He has excellent ability to hold onto the ball for a significant period of time and can also thread valuable passes for his teammates to score goals. He also chips in with crucial goals from set piece situations and also has the ability to take shots from distance.
