Hull City is evidently very much disappointed with their relegation from the Premier League this season. They will be playing in the Championship in the next season, with an obvious attempt to make a comeback into the Premier League a season later.
The Tigers are also aware of the fact that their relegation will lead to a number of players leaving the club and many will want to join the existing Premier League clubs. One such player is Andrea Ranocchia, the Italian defender, who has been playing at the KCOM on loan from Internazionale.
The Italian defender was out of favour under Inter Milan’s last manager Stefano Pioli and was handed just nine starts up to the mid-season. The defender eventually made a move out of the Serie A club, as he went on to join the Tigers on loan during the winter transfer window.
Ranocchia has been one of the best players for a rather dejected Hull City side since his arrival in January. The Italian defender gave his best shot to try and get them out of trouble, but his efforts proved to be too futile for Hull City to save them from relegation.
The Italian international was one of the favourite players of Hull City’s former coach Marcos Silva. The two developed a bond of great friendship and mutual respect, which might now continue as there are speculations that Ranocchia might also follow in his footsteps and join him at his new club Watford.
Reportedly, Swansea City has also shown interest to bag the ex-Hull City player in the next summer transfer window. The Swans battled through relegation during the recently concluded season and are quite fortunate to have survived despite an unsatisfactory defensive display. No wonder their coach Paul Clement is looking to bring in players to revamp his side’s defence and Ranocchia can perfectly fit his bill in the next season.
As per sources, the Italian international has been priced at £5 million by his current club Internazionale. Speculations are rife that he does not want to return to the Serie A, and is looking for potential suitors who can provide him a chance to stay back in the Premier League.
And having helped Hull City at the bottom of the table the last season, The Liberty outfit will also be a change in environment and might help the Swans compete for a place in the top half of the table. But they will have to act quickly with a number of clubs also lurking around.
