Real Madrid have reached this year’s UEFA Champions League final, beating city rivals Atletico Madrid by 4-2 on aggregate. The Galacticos scored three goals in the first leg and won it, whereas Atletico brought their best to the show in the second leg and won it by 2-1. However, it was too little too late for them as Los Blancos made advancement to the Grand Finale.
The Galacticos will be facing a charged-up Juventus in the final, who beat Real Madrid’s arch rivals Barcelona in the quarter-final. The Italian side is known for their ability to turn defence into counter attack within a matter of moments, along with their defensive strength which has not let many goals to go past them in this year’s Champions League campaign.
Real Madrid will need to be on their feet from the very first minute of the match to make it past the Bianconeri. For that, they will need the following players to make a lasting impact on the match-
Cristiano Ronaldo-
The talismanic forward is in good form of late, having scored a hat-trick in the first leg of the Semi-Final against Atletico Madrid, almost ensuring a place for Los Blancos in the Final. He also scored the same number of goals in the second leg of this year’s quarter-final in the Champion’s League, where Real Madrid clashed against the German giants Bayern Munich. The Portuguese skipper has shown the ability to raise his game to a different level altogether on big stages, which has made him arguably the best player in the world. The four times Balon D’Or winner undoubtedly holds the key to Real Madrid’s success in their encounter against Juventus in the Champions League final that will be played in Cardiff, Wales this term.
Sergio Ramos-
Often known to be the saviour of his club, the Spaniard is one of the best centre-backs the world has ever seen. A rock in the Real Madrid defence, the Galacticos’ captain also has the ability to score from set pieces and bring his team the taste of victory. However, he is prone to commit serious fouls at times which can get him sidelined for the rest of the match.
Luka Modric-
The Croatian midfield maestro has been integral in many victories for the Real Madrid side since his arrival from Tottenham. A good controller of the ball and an even better passer, Modric will have to play a pivotal role on the pitch if Los Blancos need to win the Final.
