There has been much speculation recently about Troy Deeney’s future at Watford, the club he has been serving for the last nine years. This time around, the inspirational captain has been linked with a move to the Hawthorns, with coach Tony Pulis looking to make changes in his side for the next season.
Troy Deeney has been linked with clubs like West Ham United and Everton in the past as well. But every time the English striker has denied a move away from Vicarage Road. In fact, Troy Deeney has expressed complete allegiance to Watford and his desire to stay at the club for more years to come.
Last season, Deeney was involved in a move with English Premier League Champions Leicester City, which he denied and stayed back at Watford. He has even penned down a new contract with Watford last summer in favour of his wish to serve the club for a long time to come.
He has been completely open about his future and has said that he is more than happy at Vicarage Road, and it completely depends on the club whether they want to let go of him or not. The 28-year-old striker has been in prolific form over the past two seasons, scoring 23 goals for Watford.
West Bromwich Albion coach Toni Pulis, on the other hand, has been looking for options to revamp his side for the next season. Currently positioned at eighth, the Baggies will look to finish the season in the top half of the table. Currently, Toni Pulis is in need of a good striker who can spearhead the side’s attacking force, and the Watford captain seems to fit the bill perfectly.
Troy Deeney is known for his ability to score goals in difficult situations for Watford. With exceptional abilities to head the ball home and thread key passes to set his teammates up in front of opponent goal, he is held in the highest regard as a complete player who puts his team before him. Deeney also loves to play long balls and does flick-ons very often, bamboozling the opposition defence and makes vicious runs to score goals.
Troy Deeney has been instrumental in keeping Watford in the top half of the league table this season, despite the lack of a quality striking partner after the departure of Odion Ighalo to China. The captain of Watford reportedly doesn’t want to leave the club, unless the club lets him leave.
