Everything will be at stake when Watford hosts Swansea City at Vicarage Road this Saturday, 15th April 2017. Swansea City desperately need a win to get out of the relegation battle zone while Watford will look to go up on the table with 3 points.
Watford vs Swansea City
Team News-
Watford- Defenders Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Prodl along with midfielder Valon Behrami might all be out of action with injuries. Striker Troy Deeney might start this encounter after being used as a substitute last weekend. Uruguayan defender Miguel Britos has been suspended for the match after picking up a booking against Stoke City in his last outing. Mauro Zarate is considered a long-term absentee.
Swansea- Swansea City’s top scorer for the season, Spanish marksman Fernando Llorente is looking to start, having played the last fixture as a substitute. Swansea will have to deal without the service of Captain Jack Cork due to an ankle injury picked up last weekend against West Ham.
Predicted Line-ups-
Watford- Gomes, Janmaat, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Amrabat, Success, Doucoure, Cleverly, Niang, Okaka/Deeney
Swansea- Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Martin, Fer, Cork, Carroll, Routledge, Sigurdsson, Ayew J/Llorente
Key Players-
Watford- Watford might look to start with Troy Deeney up front. Deeney has scored in four successive home games this season, so it will be a big miss for Watford to keep him on the bench. Incidentally, he had started as a substitute against Tottenham last weekend, which Watford lost by 4 goals to 0.
Swansea City- Paul Clement might be playing Fernando Llorente at Vicarage Road from the very first minute. Llorente is fit after an injury lay-off, having sprained his ankle and giving two games a miss in a row. The Spaniard came off the bench in their last outing against West Ham United, which the team lost by 1-0.
Likely Outcome-
The onus will be more on Swansea City to make a mark in this game. With the sword of relegation hanging over their heads, one can expect to see an all-out effort from Swansea players at Vicarage Road. Swansea has failed to win a single match throughout the entire month of April and are in a complete spot of bother.
Watford, on the other hand, finds them in a relatively comfortable zone. Currently, at 10th position in the league table, the Hornets enter the business end of the season with a view to hold their position affirmed. Watford, having won the last two home games in succession, will be high on spirit and will look to make it three wins in a row at home against a comparatively demoralised Swansea City.
