Hull City are going through a dismal season currently, and need to revive from their position as they are currently just three points ahead of the bottom three teams in the Premier League. Hoping that they will survive this season, the Tigers are already in search of reinforcements for the next campaign, one of them being Simon Kjaer, the centre back from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Defensively, Hull City is having one of the worst seasons in their recent history. The Tigers have conceded 67 goals in their 34 matches so far in this season and are in desperate need of a revamp of the current side. Current Hull City coach Marco Silva believes that the Danish defender can be an answer to their current defensive woes to some extent.
Reportedly, Hull City officials have flown into Turkey recently in order to start negotiations over a deal that might land the 28-year-old at the KCOM Stadium next season. However, the Tigers have to fulfil the release clause of the defender by paying £8.5 million for securing his services in the forthcoming campaign.
Simon Kjaer has been instrumental in his defensive approach throughout the season for the Turkish side. Since joining the club in 2015, the Dane has made a very important contribution to Fenerbahce, helping them to win a number of accolades. He has 66 appearances to his name for his club, along with 59 appearances for his national side.
Marco Silva is well aware of his sides’ current woes and has demanded a move for key players who can help them out of their recent problems. His sincerity and dedication to the club has reignited the expectation for another season in the top flight for the Hull City enthusiasts. However, for a better new season, the Tigers coach will need more players like Simon Kjaer to be a part of his team.
Kjaer has the experience with some of the Europe’s top clubs like Lille, Wolfsburg and Roma with him, which the Hull City manager thinks will be crucial in evading dangers in front of the goal. It will help them improve their solidity in front of goal.
The Danish defender has a towering presence in the defence, along with the discipline in tackling the opponent players cleanly. His ability to keep hold of the ball and clearing it with absolute precision makes him one of the most effective defenders in recent times.
