Arsene Wenger will be happy with the way his side managed to take all three points from a tricky trip to the Riverside on Monday. The manager will not be happy with the progress his side has made this season and will be looking to add some quality to help them compete with the best in the next campaign.
Wenger is set to sell a number of players at the club this summer and he will look to add some of the biggest names in Europe to his squad at the end of the season.
This has seen Arsenal scout for a number of stars. But who should Wenger target this summer? Here are three players who could walk into the first team at the Emirates next season:
Sead Kolasinac (Schalke):
The likes Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs have done a decent job at the club recently but it might be finally time for Arsenal to look elsewhere and Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac is a superb option. Some reports earlier this month claimed that Wenger has already managed to finish the deal and that he will land him in the summer.
Coming on a free transfer, the 23-year old is one of the best players up for grabs in his position in the summer transfer market and Arsenal should do everything to get him to the club, to start their revival next season.
Isco (Real Madrid):
The Spanish star is among the best midfielders in Spain at the moment but is struggling to get into the first team at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane. Though he has revealed that he wants to stay and fight for his place, Isco could be looking for regular game time and the Emirates could be a decent proposition.
Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have all been used in this position but Arsenal have lacked creativity at times, which Isco will bring to the party. At just 24, he is an option for years to come and Wenger will want him to play for his side, in the midfield for the upcoming campaign.
Moussa Dembele (Celtic):
Though constantly linked with a move for some of the biggest names in Europe, Arsenal have not bene able to lure top class strikers to the club in the last couple of summers but it has now become a necessity for the Gunners.
Though the likes of Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez and even Alexis Sanchez are all options for the number 9 position in the squad, Wenger has not been able to trust any of them and is sure to spend in the transfer market on a striker.
Celtic’s Mousa Dembele, who is in exceptional form, could be the answer for the Gunners.
