This season has been quite a forgettable one from Manchester City’s point of view, both in England and Europe. The only thing that can console their fans is the fact that they still are alive in the FA Cup and have reached the Semi Final stage. However, it’s very unlikely that the owners of Manchester City will be happy with this performance of the team. As a result, the club has already started preparing for the next season and are looking to bring in players who can change the current complexion of the team.
A number of players have been linked with the club, with quite a few worth special mention. These players hopefully will show their full potential and bring back the glory days to the City. They are-
Leonardo Bonucci-
Facing a world of problems with their defence, the Premier League club needs to get a world class centre back as soon as possible. With no one capable enough to play an important role in the City defence beside John Stones, Pep Guardiola is looking very much ascertained to bring in the Azzurri defender Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus. The 29-year-old has also spoken about his admiration for the Spanish coach and there is enough possibility that he can be seen donning the City uniform in the forthcoming season.
Alexis Sanchez-
Currently, with 17 goals so far this season, Sergio Aguero has proved himself once again as the mainstay of Manchester City’s attacking line-up. Although Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are active enough in supplying balls to him in the attacking third, Pep Guardiola is looking for a striking partner for the Argentine. Reportedly, he is looking to bring in Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. The Chilean striker has been in top form of late, scoring 19 goals so far for the Gunners this season. The ex-Barcelona marksman has been rumoured to leave Arsenal next season, with no fresh talks over his contract renewals. Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the developments regarding this matter and will surely not let go the Arsenal talisman in case Sanchez leaves the Emirates stadium.
Gianluigi Donnarumma-
The Italian starlet is being linked with the Premier League club as both their goalkeepers, Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero are facing problems in stopping goals from being scored against them. Since the departure of England no.1 Joe Hart on loan, the City fans have not been very pleased with the performance of the current first choice keeper Claudio Bravo. As a result, the 18 years old from AC Milan might be heading towards a big budget move towards Manchester City to handle their goalkeeping woes.
