Real Madrid are considering a move for Alaves left-back Theo Hernandez. According to reports, Real Madrid have a contract with Atletico Madrid for the services of the player. Los Blancos are ready to pay his €24 million release clause and the 19-year-old will join the club in the summer when he comes back from his loan stint from Alaves.
Marcelo has become a regular in the left back position and will continue to thrive under Zinedine Zidane. Liverpool have also reportedly enquired about the player and Jurgen Klopp wants to add him as a backup to James Milner.
Alberto Moreno has fallen down in the pecking order and Klopp would definitely cash in on the player if a suitable offer comes along. Milner has done a pretty decent job but the absence of a proper left back has hurt Liverpool this season.
If Theo does join the Spanish giants he won’t be able to secure first team football immediately as Marcelo would continue for at least two seasons. Real might send the player out on loan to have some first team football to nurture his talent.
Theo came through the ranks of Atletico Madrid and was sent on loan to improve his game. But Hernandez reportedly has a buy-back clause in his contract which makes him very vulnerable to the big European clubs.
Hernandez has a blistering pace and can beat the opponent with his silky moves. Zinedine Zidane has praised the defender recently which might be a signal towards an interest which has the potential to turn out into something much more. Atletico Madrid had very high hopes for the player and he was touted to be a replacement for Filipe Luis which could see Atleti make a last ditch attempt to urge the player to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
Hernandez has a discipline problem and has been booked by the referees a number of times but he can work on this aspect to improve his game. He has already got 10 yellow cards and a red card this season which might hinder his progress.
Theo is having an outstanding season at Alaves and has been one of the most standout players of the club. He loves to roam forward and his surging runs have got him four assists this season so far. A long and complicated battle is set to ensue between the two clubs and Real might finally edge in if they have a staunch interest in the player.
