The fate of the Scottish Premiership has been decided as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic FC have already secured the silverware. Rangers FC, their arch rivals, travelled to Pittodrie Stadium this afternoon to lock horn with second-placed Aberdeen. The Gers thrashed Hamilton Academical 4-0 in new manager Pedro Caixinha’s first game in charge; since then, they have managed two back to back draws against Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
As a result, the fourth-placed St. Johnstone have closed the gap in the meantime. A tough away fixture might be, Rangers were in a desperate search to get back to winning ways. However, their efforts did not go in vain as they scripted a massive 3-0 win and stretched the gap with fourth-placed Saints.
Rangers FC Players RATED And SLATED From Their Impressive Win Vs Aberdeen
Wes Foderingham: 8
His back to back saves in the second half kept the Gers in it and his decision making helped his side to keep defensive composure.
James Tavernier: 7
Tavernier impressed with his overlap runs down the right and whipped in a few crosses for the attackers. Did well to defensively when the Dons were piling on the pressure.
David Bates: 8
The youngster impressed once again following his midweek debut against Kilmarnock and managed to keep back to back clean sheets. He had a strong aerial presence, pulled off a few crucial blocks and clearances.
Danny Wilson: 7
Wilson played his part with great defensive control and composure. Dealt well with Aberdeen’s crosses and was in the right place at the right time in most occasions.
Myles Beerman: 6.5
The teenager kept his place in the squad following his midweek debut against Kilmarnock. Struggled initially against the experienced Jonny Hayes and Adam Rooney, however, Beerman settled in quickly and helped his side keeping back to back clean sheets.
Jason Holt: 7
Controlled the game from the middle of the park and switched it to both the flanks to use the width of the pitch. Screened his defence when needed and did well to keep possession in midfield.
Jon Toral: 7
The Arsenal loanee was brought back into the squad and he kept the midfield mobile as well as fluid with his box to box runs. Shooting could have been better.
Emerson Hyndman: 6
The Bournemouth loanee had a few good runs down the left-hand flank but his efforts lacked end products. Was replaced by Josh Windass early into the second half.
Kenny Miller: 9
The 37-year-old forward marked his comeback with a late brace and could have found his third in stoppage time if his header was not cleared off the line.
Joe Garner: 6
Garner had an early opportunity to break the deadlock but was denied by the custodian Joe Lewis. Linked up well with Waghorn. Was replaced by Joe Dodoo in the second half.
Martyn Waghorn: 7
Waghorn’s strike was saved well by the keeper but the rebound was converted by Miller to earn his side a lead in closing stages. Combined well with fellow attackers and worked tirelessly throughout the game. Was replaced by Andy Halliday towards the end.

Assisted Miller’s second and scored the Gers’ third in his late cameo.
Andy Halliday: NA
Came late in place of Waghorn. Played too little to warrant a rating.
