The arrival of Marco Silva could not have come at a more appropriate time as Hull City moved out of the relegation zone since October with a 4-2 win over Middlesbrough. They will now travel to Etihad Stadium to face the challenge of Manchester City with hopes of their revival rekindled.
The Tigers’ have performed impressively at the KCOM Stadium under the guidance of Silva but have not replicated their form away from home. Up against them are a team who have one of the most talented attacks in the Premier League and Marco Silva will have to continue his impact at the club to get a positive outcome in the next match.
Hull have become a potential force of late and have taken 16 points from six games since Silva took the charge. With all others relegation strugglers dropping points, the Tigers have a job to do and looking at the current situation, Silva would come out with highest marks.
Predicted 4-4-2 Hull City Lineup Against Manchester City
Defence
Eldin Jakupovic has been the goalkeeper for Hull City. The 32-year-old has stepped up during this crunch situation and has been rock solid in the Hull goal. He is set to continue in the next match.
Harry Maguire’s potent form has attracted interests from a number of clubs and he has to lead the defence from the front to stop the Manchester City attackers dominating the attacking third.
Since his loan move from Inter Milan, Andrea Rannochia has succeeded to earn the faith of his manager and there have been strong rumours that Hull might sign him permanently if they stay afloat in the Premier League. Rannochia will partner Maguire at the centre of defence.
Ahmed Elmohamady is a veteran of the Premier League and will put all his resources to keep their hopes of survival intact.
Andrew Robertson will have the chance to be a hero in the left back position.
Midfield
The absence of Tom Huddlestone in the midfield has left Marco Silva with a handful of choices. Alfred N’Diaye will have to dig deep to give the side stability in the midfield.
Samuel Clucas needs to pull the string at the heart of the midfield to give the side a much-needed drive in the midfield.
Attack
Former Liverpool man Lazar Markovic hasn’t played much since his move from the Anfield side but against a team like Manchester City, Silva would definitely want one of his most experienced players to come to the party.
Kamil Grosicki will be deployed on the opposite flank.
Oumar Niasse and Abel Hernandez will try to make an impact on the game.
