Burnley’s contention for a top-half finish will be under tough test when they welcome Manchester United at the Turf Moor on this Sunday. The Clarets have an impressive record at home as they have squared ten wins out of the 16 matches they have played so far. But facing United will be completely different as the visiting side will be coming to the match on the backdrop of two consecutive wins in two different competitions.
Burnley played a goalless draw with the Red Devils in the previous fixture where Tom Heaton became the one man army for the Clarets as he made 11 saves in that match to deny them from scoring. United will press hard knowing that a win will put them within touching distance of Manchester City who sits in the fourth place.
Predicted 4-4-2 Burnley Lineup Against Manchester United
Defence
Tom Heaton has been technically one of the most gifted keepers in the Premier League this season. Burnley’s season would have been in deep misery had he not been in the goal. The 31-year-old has made the most number of saves in the Premier League this season and will once again be ready to face the challenge.
Michael Keane has been a decisive factor in Burnley’s season so far. Since securing a move to Turf Moor the 24-year-old has put some excellent performances for them especially in this season.
Michael Keane will have Ben Mee as his partner to guard the Burnley goal.
Stephen Ward will be handed over the charge of the left back position.
Matthew Lowton will try to control things from the right side of the defence.
Midfield
Joey Barton has had a difficult season in terms of controversies. Rangers terminated his contract after he was found of breaching rules and his former club Burnley took this chance and signed him in the winter transfer window. Barton remains one of the most talented footballers to have played n the Premier league and Sean Dyche would keep his position intact in the starting lineup.
United have had a tough schedule and Jeff Hendrick has to utilise this opportunity.
Attack
Since his transfer from Norwich City, Robbie Brady has been given a number of chances and he is set to have another opportunity to make a mark.
George Boyd will start on the right wing.
Andre Gray who didn’t start the last game could be reinstated in the starting lineup. Ashley Barnes will be his partner upfront.
