Watford will host a struggling Swansea City in the upcoming week of the Premier League. The Hornets are having a kind of erratic season and would be hoping to end the season on a high by finishing in the top half of the table.
They are currently on 37 points and are pretty much secure from relegation. For the last few seasons, 36 points have been enough to save relegation. The Hornets have already passed the mark and three points from the next match will further guarantee them a place in the top ten.
Predicted 4-3-3 Watford Lineup Against Swansea City
Defence
Heurelho Gomes has been a stalwart in the Watford goal. The 36-year-old has been at his vintage best and has remained the preferred choice this season.
Watford have a number of defenders injured and Walter Mazzarri has a tough decision to make. He will stick with the defender duo he has been using for the past couple of matches. Adrian Mariappa will be slotted in the central defence.
Craig Cathcart is very dependable and will be at the defensive duties once again.
Jose Holebas has started this campaign very brightly but couldn’t carry on his form. But he has the ability to make those runs to stretch Swansea in the attacking third.
When Daryl Janmaat arrived in the Premier League he was considered as one of the rawest talents but his subsequent performance led him to a transfer to the Vicarage Road. He will have the task to keep the right side aloof from the attackers.
Midfield
Tom Cleverly has made his loan move permanently from Everton and will be a vital cog in the midfield.
Abdoulaye Doucoure will be alongside him and will try to soak the pressure in midfield.
Nordin Amrabat will be further up in the midfield. The 30-year-old will try to make forays into the attacking third as soon as he gets a chance.
Attack
M’Baye Niang scored a scorcher in the last match and everybody would be expecting him to repeat a similar kind of thing. There have been rumours that Watford might try to sign him permanently from AC Milan. He will use his burst of pace to create opportunities from the left wing.
Isaac Success hasn’t been used much but the youngster has all the qualities to shine brightly in the Premier League.
Troy Deeney will have the responsibility to spearhead the Hornets attack.
