Manchester United have been looking to revamp their side keeping in mind the dismal performances this season. Almost all the areas, particularly defence has been a very critical area for the Red Devils of late.
With the next season in view, Jose Mourinho, the current man in charge at Old Trafford is planning to instil some fresh blood into the side in the form of Brazilian defender Marquinhos from Paris Saint German.
Marquinhos is currently hailed as one of the best centre backs in the world and has been playing a key role in shaping the season for PSG for quite a few years now.
The Brazilian defender is versatile in nature and has shown his brilliance as a right back as well. He joined Paris Saint German from the Italian club Roma in 2013 and has since become an integral part of the French Ligue 1 side.
The 22-year old Brazilian was also targeted by the former Premier League champions last summer, but the deal did not come through at that time.
However, the Red Devils are showing renewed interest in the Olympic Gold medal winner with a speculated fresh bid of £59 million.
The PSG defender looks all the more inevitable for Manchester United given the current circumstances, which sees defenders Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo being sidelined with injuries. Inclusion of the Brazilian can bring a real sense of relief to the distressed back line of the Red Devils.
Marquinhos has been instrumental in making Paris Saint German one of the obvious threats to the other clubs in Ligue 1 as well as European competitions.
The Brazilian, apart from his defensive abilities, is also known for his ability to pass the ball to the right player in the right area. Like his Brazilian teammates, Marquinhos also possesses eye-widening dribbling qualities. He is also equipped with strong abilities to hold onto the ball for quite a long time, his concentration on the ball being outstanding.
However, the Red Devils might have to face competition in bagging the Brazilian, with a number of other big name clubs from England and Europe showing interest in the 22-year-old defender.
In 2015, it was almost certain for Marquinhos to leave for Nou Camp, but the deal did not finally come through. Reportedly, Manchester United’s arch rivals and current Premier League leaders Chelsea are also trying to bring the centre back to Stamford Bridge this summer.
