Manchester United has been busy of late, looking for a suitable replacement for their current goalkeeper David De Gea after the latter has been linked with a move back to Spain. Real Madrid being the potential bidder this time, the Red Devils are looking for a top class goalkeeper for the new season.
Speculations are high that current Atletico Madrid keeper has been picked as a potential replacement for the Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea by Manchester United. Reportedly, the Slovenian goalkeeper’s representatives were recently in the UK for what is rumoured as a conversation regarding Oblak’s move to Old Trafford.
The Slovenian shot-stopper is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world currently. He was named as the best goalkeeper of the Spanish La Liga in its last term for giving away only 18 goals throughout the season.
Atletico Madrid has put a price tag of £85 million on their Slovenian goalkeeper. It is rumoured that three more big clubs apart from Manchester United are in the race to secure his signature for the next season. However, the Red Devils currently look favourites for acquiring the Slovenian goalkeepers in the forthcoming season.
In their recent outing against West Bromwich Albion, in which the Red Devils were not able to put any past their rival shot-stopper, current Manchester United boss allegedly accused David De Gea to be “sleeping” in the last few moments of the match. It is being speculated that the comments have infuriated the Spanish goalkeeper and he wants a move away from Old Trafford as soon as the ongoing season comes to an end.
David De Gea has been pursued by Los Blancos for quite some time now, and a deal was almost finalised between the two last summer, right on the deadline day. However, it had to be shunned by the Spanish giants due to some technical problems. This time though, Real Madrid are pretty determined to make the Spanish shot-stopper wear their colours in which is speculated to be a record breaking transfer move for any goalkeeper.
Jan Oblak has also been pursued by Real Madrid in case the De Gea deal does not come through, but Old Trafford is currently looking to be the next destination for the Slovenian goalkeeper. However, his current club Atletico Madrid is not looking to let go off their mercurial shot-stopper in the next season if their demanded transfer fee is not met by the Premier League club.
