Ronald Koeman’s Everton managed to push past Leicester City in a high scoring game at the Goodison Park at the weekend. The manager will be relatively happy with the way his team has progressed but he will have a huge job in hand to replace the outgoing Belgian Romelu Lukaku.
Standing as the top goal scorer in the Premier League at the moment, Lukaku scored a brace against the Foxes and is the most important player for Everton this season. However, he has revealed that he is ready to quit the club at the end of the season and this has seen some of the biggest clubs in Europe scout for him.
Lukaku will be available at £70m and there are quite a few clubs ready to meet his valuation. Here are three such possible destinations for the Belgian star:
Real Madrid:
The Spanish giants have a decent chance of winning the La Liga this season but Zinedine Zidane is not happy with the options at his disposal and is looking to add some quality to his attack. He might let the likes of James Rodriguez, Isco, Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata leave this summer and will need a top-class striker to lead the attack for the side.
The 23-year old Everton star could be a decent option. Scoring goals for fun at the moment, Lukaku is ready for the next step and will only get better playing around players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on either side of him. Surely, the Bernabeu is a superb option for Lukaku this summer.
Manchester United:
The Red Devils are another club that are desperate for some attacking additions this summer. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the only established striker at the club and though he may remain at the Old Trafford for another year, Mourinho cannot rely on him for all four competitions and is looking at quality players to add to his squad.
Though he has been looking at Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and Andrea Belotti from Torino, Lukaku is high up the wish list and could be the man that can help United step up their game. He is more than a superb option and with all his experience in the Premier League, he seems to be the safest bet for Jose Mourinho this summer.
Arsenal:
Yes, it is hard to see the Gunners spend £70m on the striker, but Arsenal are in desperate need of a star attacker who can score consistently for the next season.
The likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck have been given chances but have not been consistent enough while Lucas Perez has failed to win the trust of the manager this season. The former duo might stay at the club beyond this season while Lucas Perez is already linked with an exit.
They will spend that amount one time or another so with the requirement as bad as it has ever been, this summer might be the time for Wenger or his successor to spend big, and there are very few options better than Lukaku in the market.
His time in England will allow him to be an instant hit at the Emirates and if Wenger quits, there is every chance that his replacement is ready to splash the cash on the Belgian.
Where do you think Lukaku will play next season?
