We are at the business end of the season and nothing could be better than a Manchester derby. Manchester City will host Manchester United which could decide the fate of both of the clubs. Both the clubs have a number of players injured and will find it difficult to field a strong starting lineup. A win for either the teams will help them to put a strong foot in the top four places.
United had a rather slow start to the season but slowly they picked up their rhythm and they are on a course to extend their unbeaten streak to 24 matches should they able to beat City.
Goalkeeper
David De Gea has maintained his form and is a no match for Claudio Bravo who has been struggling to make an impact since his transfer from Barcelona at the start of this season.
RCB
Eric Bailly has adapted himself beautifully to the English conditions and has earned rave reviews for his performance despite the fact that this is his very first season in a Red Devils’ shirt.
LCB
Vincent Kompany’s back to fitness couldn’t have come at a better moment. His leadership ability from the back is quite commendable and in the absence of John Stones, he will be leading the defence.
LB
Darmian is originally not a left back but Mourinho has deployed him on the left side and he has fared pretty well so far.
RB
Nobody can match the performance of Antonio Valencia. He has been the player of the season for United hands down.
Midfield
Defensive Midfield
Fernandinho is an obvious pick when it comes to shielding the four-man backline. The Brazilian is a brilliant passer of the ball and his vision of the game is pretty admirable.
Central Midfield
It has to be Ander Herrera. The Spaniard has flourished in the three midfield combination Mourinho has been using. He tirelessly roams around the park and helps the team in building the attack.
Attack
Left Wing
Leroy Sane will get the nod on the left side. The German teenager has worked tirelessly and has complimented Pep Guardiola’s strategy.
Right Wing
Kevin De Bruyne is enjoying a good run of games and will slot into the right wing.
Attacking Midfield
David Silva has arguably been one of the most underrated attacking midfielders of the Premier League. The Spaniard lacks the pace a bit but can compensate that with his accurate passing and slick movement.
FWD
Marcus Rashford has responded in a great fashion in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
